This is a short e-mail from the Carlisle Flood Recovery Centre updating you on our new location

Due to the property in Spencer Street having been sold – The Flood Centre is now based as per the details in the attached poster

Note: visits to the office in the Enterprise Centre are only by appointment as we are not always in the office;

We will continue to serve the people of Carlisle and wider Cumbrian community for the foreseeable future – please either pop in to visit us, or phone if we can be of service to you. Carole & Paul  

Changes to Recycling Services Carlisle   (June 2017)
Changes to recycling services - Carlisle City Council area

Please note that there will be changes to the arrangements for collecting recycling coming into effect from 12 June 2017. All households should receive new information & new calendars by post next week (w/b 22 May). There will be changes to collection days for some (but not all) areas, and changes to how you are asked to sort your recycling. Information will be available on the Council's website from 19 May. Visit www.carlisle.gov.uk.

Temp Road Closure Cotehill   (12 June 2017)
THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U1167 COTEHILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Gallagher Ltd and Electricity North West to carry out the installation of high voltage cables (“the Works”), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U1167 Cotehill, from a point approx. 60m west of its junction with Peter Gate, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 630m.

There is no suitable alternative route for vehicles.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

Temporary Road Closure Wetheral Pastures   (15.5.17 (Up to 18 months))
THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C1038 WETHERAL PASTURE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Amey on behalf of United Utilities to carry out water mains refurbishment works (“the Works”), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C1038 Wetheral Pasture, from its junction with the B6263, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx.800m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the B6263, A6 (High Hesket), C3027 (Armathwaite) and the unrestricted section of the C1038.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Amey on behalf of United Utilities to carry out clean water mains refurbishment (“the Works”), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C1038 Scotby Shields, Wetheral, from its junction with the B6263, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 1.2km.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the B6263 Steele’s Bank and the unrestricted section of the C1038.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C1038 FRONT STREET, ARMATHWAITE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Gallagher Ltd to install a high voltage cable on behalf of Electricity North West Ltd (“the Works”), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C1038 Front Street, Armathwaite for a distance of approx.100m either side of the centre line of Low House Level Crossing.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C1038, B6263, (Cumwhinton), A6 (High Hesket) and the C3027 (Armathwaite).

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.
